Am: Our trip starts at 08.30 from your hotel, with our driver and guide to take you to the boat landing on the river. From here we’ll start our trip along the Perfume River to visit the Thien Mu pagoda - the most ancient one in Vietnam, which was founded under a mysterious legend. We’ll gently sail down the river on a dragon boat, enjoying the glorious scenery surrounding us on either side of the riverbank…lush rice paddies & maize fields, and the sweetly scented tropical orchards. The harmonious picture is completed with fishing boats and traditional riverbank dwellings. The clear blue water of the Perfume River will lap away any lingering stress

We’ll then return to Hue city centre to visit the Imperial Citadel, where the Nguyen Dynasty ruled between 1802 and 1945. We’ll take in numerous attractive monuments, such as the Flag Tower, Noon Gate, Nine Dynastic Urns, Nine Holy Cannons, Thai Hoa Palace, and Purple Forbidden City. You’re then free to have your own lunch at a garden restaurant with special dishes of Hue.

Pm: This afternoon, we’ll continue visiting the complex of Nguyen Emperors’ Mausoleums such as Minh Mang Tomb, followed by the Khai Dinh. There are 6 tombs still with the original architecture of the Nguyen Emperors, with time to visit the 2 of your choice. Each tomb brings a unique insight into the Emperor. Six royal tombs are dotted across the land to the south east of the Citadel on the other side of the Perfume River and one lies on the same side. They are monuments to nine of the thirteen rulers of the Nguyen Dynasty, mostly built during the Emperor’s lifetime.

Lastly we’ll explore the bustling handicraft villages. Here we can learn more about the traditional crafts such as hat-making, bronze-casting and incense-making, before returning to the hotel.

Tour ends.
